WHS Boosters Cans & Bottles Program

What is it?

The WHS Boosters Cans & Bottles Redemption program sorts, and recycles redeemable cans and bottles.

The program has  grown into an important revenue stream for WHS athletics and consistently raises $10,000-$12,000 annually. Furthermore, as of 01/01/2024, redemption value has increased to $.10/item (up from $.05/item). WHS Boosters anticipates will significantly increase total funds raised.

  • Each WHS athletics team is assigned 2 Saturday shifts each year and provides student and adult coverage at the Weston Transfer Station.
  • Every WHS student-athlete participates in Cans & Bottles Redemption each year.

How does it work?

  1. Weston residents drop off their redeemable cans & bottles at the Weston Transfer Station.
  2. Student-athletes and the Weston Green Team sort cans/bottles for recycling each Saturday (year-round) from 9am to 11am.
  3. Once sorted, redeemable cans & bottles are picked up, processed, and recycled.
  4. 100% of the proceeds benefit the WHS Boosters and the High School Green Team.

How can I help?

  • Drop off your redeemable cans and bottles in the three designated "stations" (plastics, cans, glass) on the upper level of the Weston Transfer Station, just 6-minutes drive from Weston Center (check first for opening times). No sticker is required.
